The number of coronavirus infections in the UK is extremely high. Hospitals are overflowing and many schools remain closed for at least two weeks. “The speed at which we are getting people is enormous,” notes Marcel Levy, director of the Dutch hospital.

In the UK, nearly 55,000 new cases have been added in the past 24 hours. On Saturday, injuries rose to a record number, exceeding 57,000. Many hospitals are overcrowded. Corona patients in England currently occupy 20,426 beds. This is about 1,500 more than in April, when the epidemic reached its peak. In London, the number of Corona patients admitted to the ICU doubled from 300 to 636 in just two weeks.
