Dutch people less fit due to lockdown • “Germany extends lockdown until April”

As a result of the lockdown, the Dutch are exercising less and eating less healthily. This is clear from one Research Done by sports parachute organization NOC * NSF among 3,000 Dutch, aged 5 to 80.

Especially children up to 12 years of age (49 percent) and youth up to 30 years of age (38 percent) exercise less when they can’t go to their club. Study participants say they find it difficult to find the motivation to exercise on their own.

Gerard Delissen, general manager of NOC * NSF, said the aura procedures put a heavy burden on the physical and mental state of Dutch people. “We need our sports clubs to keep moving. The ability to exercise together at specific times, under the supervision of a coach or coach; these are very important factors for many Dutch in motivating them to keep moving.”

Among the group who started exercising less or stopped completely, 51 percent indicated that they felt less physical fit during the extended lockdown period. This percentage is higher among young people between the ages of 19 and 30 (61 percent). Additionally, 1 in 4 Dutch who start exercising less say they start eating a lot of unhealthy foods.

Earlier this week, the NOC * NSF supported a call for 31 indoor sports federations and interest groups to reopen gyms and gymnasiums in the short term. It remains closed.
