Demi Shores was eliminated

Demi Schors was eliminated in the women’s doubles tournament at the US Open. The 30-year-old doubles specialist retired with partner Desiree Krawczyk in her second-round match against Brazilian Beatrice Haddad Maya and Belarusian Victoria Azarenka. The duo did not reveal why they did not take any action.

Schurz and Krawzik finished fourth in New York. The duo reached the final of the Montreal tournament last month.

Matoi Middelkoop was stranded in the second round of the men’s doubles. Middlekop lost to Croatian Mate Pavić, to Americans Vasil Kirkov and Denis Kudla, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
