China will import more foreign goods. The country is also opening the door to more business with foreign companies.
“We will continue to further promote access, more inclusiveness and more benefit-sharing,” Chinese Premier Li Qiang said on Sunday during the opening of the China International Import Trade Fair in Shanghai.
It is reported that China will actively expand imports. Imports have been under pressure for some time due to the slowdown in the Chinese economy. As a result, demand for foreign goods decreased.
Li added that China, the world’s second-largest economy, will also protect the rights and interests of foreign investors in the country. For example, foreign companies complain that they face all kinds of restrictions in China. The European Chamber of Commerce believes that China should make it easier for European companies to do business.
The exhibition has been held in the coastal city of Shanghai since 2018 at the initiative of President Xi Jinping. The trade fair aims to stimulate foreign investment in China.
