Bloomberg: Shell wants to sell French wind power company Eolfi

Oil and gas group Shell plans to sell French wind power company Eolfi. Sources reported this to Bloomberg news agency. Founded in 2004, Eolfi develops floating wind farms and was acquired by Shell in 2019.
Under the leadership of its new CEO, Wael Sawan, Shell is reviewing its activities to create more value for shareholders. This may also include divestments. Shell pulled out of a planned floating wind turbine project off the coast of Brittany in western France late last year. Then the group referred to technical, commercial and financial problems in that project. Nor did Shell recently participate in a French tender for an offshore wind farm.
Eolfi has offices in Paris, Lorient, Marseille, Nantes and Montpellier and is also active in the field of solar energy. France is one of the largest markets for floating wind turbines. Shell is still developing floating wind projects in the UK, among others.
