Bloomberg has interviewed about 20 individuals who work in or have recently left Rockstar Games. This not only revealed more information about the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6, but also about the inner workings of the game developer.
For example, initially there were plans to implement all sorts of areas of North and South America, which were eventually canceled and replaced with a fictional version of Miami and the surrounding area – a place already mentioned in the rumors.
In addition, GTA 6 should be the first game in the series to feature a playable female lead, something that is also discussed in the arcade. The woman, who is of Latin American descent, will be joined by another main character in a story inspired by bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde.
GTA V offers three different main characters.
As for the development of the latest version of GTA, it seems that fans will have to wait a little longer. While the game has been in the works since 2014, anonymous sources expect it to take at least another two years to complete. That’s after Take-Two’s fiscal year 2024, which analysts had previously forecast (April 2023 through the end of March 2024).
By the way, the company wants to work on providing a better working environment for its employees. To avoid nefarious wounds (overtime), Rockstar is said to be planning to add new locations and missions on a regular basis – rather than offering a massive amount of content at launch. Compared to previous versions, attention will also be paid to political correctness: for example, developers will be wary of mocking weak groups.
