Eleven Sports, the Belgian professional football rights holder, has reached an agreement with streaming platforms MyCuJoo and OneFootball to broadcast all matches of the Jupiler Pro League. The Professional League announced this on Thursday. Thanks to the deal, Belgian football will be shown in France, Great Britain, Spain and Germany.
Two weeks ago, Eleven Sports and the Pro League announced an agreement with the American sports channel ESPN, so that three 1A matches can also be watched live on the other side of the Atlantic every weekend. This agreement is entered into by partner Mediapro, which markets the international television broadcasting rights for the Pro League.
By now teaming up with well-known streaming platforms MyCuJoo and OneFootball, Eleven, Mediapro and Pro League are taking the next hurdle in international football distribution for Belgian clubs. MyCuJoo has a worldwide presence in approximately 150 countries, broadcasts more than 20,000 matches annually, and was recently added to the Eleven Sports Group portfolio. The OneFootball app provides live soccer scores and soccer news and reaches over 30 million fans every month.
Eleven and Pro League say they are responding to a rapidly growing trend among sports fans to increasingly consume sports content digitally. “Through technology and platforms that allow fans to customize the show to their preferences, we are expanding our audience and making our clubs more prominent internationally. The collaboration with OneFootball and MyCujoo is an excellent example of this,” said Leander Monbaliu, Business Director of the Pro League.
From now on, all Jupiler Pro League matches will be broadcast in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Scandinavia and Ireland. Until the playoffs, the show will be free on both platforms. Then it becomes pay-per-view, where you have to pay an amount per match to watch the broadcast.
