19 hurricanes hit the central United States. Dozens were killed in the region as a result of the natural disaster. The governor of Kentucky fears that between 50 and 100 people will be killed.
The governor, Andy Bashir, has Press Conference He declared a state of emergency in his state. He told a local TV channel that he feared more than 50 people were killed in the storm, but that the number could also be “much higher”. “The messages are really heartbreaking,” Bashir said.
No injuries have yet been confirmed in the state. A candle factory in Mayfield, Kentucky, partially collapsed due to the storm. More than 100 people are still trapped in the building. The governor says it’s one of the worst weather events in Kentucky ever. Hurricanes lasted for more than 300 km, which Bashir says has never happened before in his state.

Tornado blew up the roof of the warehouse
At an Amazon warehouse in Edwardsville, Illinois, people were also killed after a tornado tore through the roof of the building and part of the building collapsed. The number of deaths is not yet known. There are still people trapped in the warehouse.
Two people were killed in Arkansas. One of them died in a nursing home in the town of Monnet. The other victim in Arkansas was a woman in Litchville. She died while in a store when a tornado hit the property and she couldn’t get out in time.

Severe weather alerts in multiple countries
The U.S. Weather Service issued a hurricane advance warning for central and eastern Arkansas, southeastern Missouri, northwestern Mississippi, western Tennessee, western Kentucky, southern Illinois and southwestern Indiana. More than 150,000 people are currently without power, according to authorities, and many buildings have been damaged.
