It’s morning rush hour, and there are a lot of young people driving in front of you who don’t want to stop. Can your bike bell let you know how annoyed you are? That’s possible with the new electronic bike bell from bike manufacturer Trek: the BellBeats.
With the new bike bell, you can adjust the urgency of the sound. The device connects to your phone via Bluetooth and you can then make it clear to others that you are coming. Perhaps more urgent during rush hour in the city, and quieter on a quiet Sunday in Veluwe. You ring with your thumb as you normally would. There are eight alarm tones to choose the perfect ringtone for the right moment. You can even blow the train horn.

Not only are the ringtones said to be good in terms of their own sound, but according to the manufacturer they are also more varied in frequency and therefore more audible. The sound has been improved by Harman (from the manufacturer of Harman Kardon speakers).
This bell can also be used as a small Bluetooth speaker or to hear Google Maps navigation, for example. You can lower and raise the volume on the bell itself, if you have more noise around you. The e-bike bell should therefore be used regularly: it lasts for 6 hours on a single charge.
waterproof
The BellBeats can also be used in Dutch weather: With an IP67 rating, they can handle summer thunderstorms. The device can also withstand being submerged in a bowl of water up to one meter deep, so even heavy autumn rain shouldn’t be a problem. Whether Google Maps audio still sounds good when underwater, however, is another matter.
to Trick Bill Bates It costs $99.99, probably the same amount in Euros.
