Lynette Behrenstein caused a stir during the press conference ahead of the clash with Spain. Orange’s attacker gave a good kick to the already eliminated USA. “You have to show it before you talk.”
The Netherlands were in a group with the United States in this World Cup. The Orange Lions finished top of the group with a 1-1 draw. The U.S. came in second, but flew out against Sweden in the next round. ‘What was I thinking when they left?’, Behrenstein asked again at the press conference. ‘Yes! Bye America.’
America’s self-righteous attitude in particular displeased Berenstein. ‘They had a big mouth and often talked about the end. But before talking it has to be shown in games. I’m relieved they’re out there and I hope they’ve learned from this.’
Later, Beerenstein slowed down a bit. “I don’t want to sound insulting. I still have a lot of respect for them,” he said.
