Like a father, like a daughter. Like her dad Dennis Rodman, Trinity Rodman also sports at the highest American level this year. Not with a basketball in her hand, but a ball in her foot.

18-year-old Trinity Rodman was named second in the draft of the National Women’s Soccer League, the highest in the United States. Washington Spirit chose the striker, who finished fifth in the regular season last season.
American International Youth may be the daughter of NBA champion Dennis Rodman and his ex-wife Michelle Muir, but she is determined to break out of her world-famous father’s shadow. “I would like to be known as Trinity Rodman, not Dennis Rodman,” she told US media last March, when she was already impressed by scoring nine goals at the U-20 International Championships for America.
“Of course I am grateful for what my father taught me and his athletic genes. But I can’t wait to walk my way and get better. My dream has always been to become a professional, and I can still learn and improve a lot,” she responded to recent news.
Father Dennis Rodman secured two NBA titles with the Detroit Pistons in the late 1980s and went on to be part of Michael Jordan’s success machine with the Chicago Bulls, where he won three more. The extravagant player, known for his piercings, tattoos, intense hairstyles and famous friends, was in addition to his excellent defensive qualities more famous for his excesses on and off the field. He says he shared a bed with at least 2,000 women, has acted in several movies, had his own show on MTV and became friends with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Rodman was inducted into the NBA’s Hall of Fame in 2011.
