American engine manufacturer Ford is considering a return to Formula 1. Mark Rushbrook, the American company’s sporting director, sees opportunities in the sport’s increased popularity.
“We see that Formula 1 is growing tremendously,” said Rushbrooke. Motorsport.com. “It is growing tremendously not only in the United States, but also around the world. Formula 1 continues to be the pinnacle of motorsport and thanks to campaign to survive They benefited from a new audience.”

In the past few weeks, Ford has been rumored to be partnering with engines from 2026. That year, new engine regulations will come into effect. “We don’t comment on rumours. We watch what tournaments we can enter. We see for ourselves if we are going to participate in something or not.”

Ford has a rich history in Formula 1. In the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, the manufacturer supplied the winning engine several times. Between 1968 and 1974, the Americans were unbeatable. In 1994 they won their last title as a supplier, Michael Schumacher won the title in Benetton. They also ran their own team between 2000 and 2004 under the Jaguar name, which became Red Bull Racing.
