American goalkeeper Charles Callison will play with Donnar next season. He signed a one-year contract. The Groningen club announced this on Tuesday.
“Charles is a top-level player who can help us really well on both sides of the field, both defensively and offensively,” said coach Matthew Otten. “His personality and work ethic fit perfectly with DNA Donar.”
While in college, Callison played with the Washington State Cougars. His European adventure began in Scandinavia. He played last season in Ukraine with Odessa, but due to the cancellation of competition there, he moved to the first division of Germany in Würzburg. There he managed to develop a good streak with the team.
Callison, 27, is looking to start at Donnar. “I know Donar is a great place to play and it is a very professional organisation. I am looking forward to playing in a European context and in the BNXT League. I also really want to meet the fans.”
With Callison’s arrival, Donar has now signed nine players.
