Microsoft announced the first expansion for Forza Horizon 5. The Hot Wheels expansion adds Hot Wheels-style tracks including loops. Cars from the toy brand are also included in the DLC. Horizon 5 isn’t the first Horizon game to get Hot Wheels DLC.
The Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels Expansion Adds a new world to the game: Horizon Hot Wheels Park. This map is set in the sky over Mexico and is full of Hot Wheels trails. These orange lanes turn upside down multiple times and can cross themselves. This allows drivers to collide with each other on the track and crash.
These courses pass through and along the landscape of Mexico, driving for example over bridges of natural rocks or past volcanoes. Microsoft says the expansion adds more than 200 miles of track in four different biomes, including tundra, jungle and valley. The expansion also adds over 80 new track items that players can use to create their own Hot Wheels tracks.
In addition to additional tracks, the expansion adds ten cars to the game that can also be used outside of the expansion. It’s about Hot Wheels cars like Bone Shaker and Deora II, but “real” cars like the Hennessey Venom F5 and Mosler MT900 GT3 are also in the DLC.
Hot Wheels DLC content costs twenty euros and can be played from July 19. DLC is included in the Premium package, which will also include the second, unannounced expansion. Forza Horizon 3 previously received the Hot Wheels expansion. Forza Horizon 5 now has more than 20 million players, according to Microsoft.
