The PlayStation versions of fps Borderlands 3 will still support cross-play. Last year, Gearbox said the PlayStation versions of the BL3 would get cross-play, but then had to renege on that promise.
Publisher 2K Games Confirms to Eurogamer That the PlayStation versions of the shooter would get a crossover over two years after release. This means that PlayStation users can play with players who have BL3 on Xbox One or Xbox Series X | S, macOS, Windows, or Google Stadia. It is not yet known when the feature will be available.
Last year BL3 got multi-game support on all platforms, Except on Playstation consoles† Randy Pitchford, CEO of Borderlands developer Gearbox, said cross-play support on PlayStation consoles should be removed from the update. The exact reason for this is unknown.
It’s possible that publisher Gearbox and Borderlands 2K Games were not partnered with Sony at the time, with the company claiming a share of the revenue if players play primarily cross-play games on a PlayStation console. It is unknown what agreements have now been made to make the intersection possible.
Earlier, developer Gearbox announced its upcoming game Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Crossplay is supported on all platforms† Borderlands sub-version will be launched on March 25th for current and previous generation Xbox and PlayStation. A PC version is also available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
