BMX Fields champion is allowed to leave IC after a terrible fall | Olympic Games | July 23 – August 8
Good news from Tokyo: Connor Fields has been allowed to leave the intensive care unit. The American BMX rider had a severe fall on Friday and suffered, among other things, from a brain hemorrhage.
Fields, the 2016 Olympic champion, lost in the semifinals in Tokyo. It immediately became clear that the matter was dangerous and that the relief forces came fleeing from all sides.
Fields was taken to hospital where, among other things, a brain hemorrhage was found. After one night it turned out to be only one bleeding and the American was allowed to leave the intensive care unit.
Lisa Fields, Connor’s mother, says there’s no need for surgery. His father, Mike, told USA Today that Connor is doing well cognitively: “He knows where he is, when it’s his birthday, and he gets to know people.”
