Climate strike for education
On Friday 15 September, the National Climate Strike for Education will be held in Malefeld at 11.30am. However, Morin believes the number of people speaking out is increasing. “People are also seeing the consequences more and more: like this summer when floods, wildfires and extreme heat became the norm.”
Gerrit Schaafsma, a doctoral candidate in the field of climate change and civil disobedience, thinks so too. “I see a lot of enthusiasm around the business. My gut says there will be a big turnout on Saturday. Moreover, more people often come when the sun is shining.”
