A Welsh man was stung 160 times by wasps after the insects invaded his home. Andrew Powell, 57, eventually had to go to hospital because he could no longer sleep due to the pain.

“The sky has turned brown because of the wasps,” Powell told the BBC. The insects came after him after a local farmer accidentally disturbed their nest in a field. “I stumbled into the house while taking a shower, but they followed me in and stabbed me in the clothes.”

Face no prick

The man managed to avoid being stung on the face, although the wasps managed to sting the back of his head 15 times. The rest of his body was stung another 145 times, BBC reports.

Eventually, a friend took him to the hospital, where Powell said he lost consciousness several times. “All I saw was a white light and I thought, ‘Here we go.’”

At the hospital he was given pain medication. He is now recovering at home.
