University of Twente and Radbodomik working together

The teams of the University of Twente and Radboudumc have successfully collaborated on various projects in recent years

The Biomaterials Science and Technology (BST) group at the University of Twente has signed a formal academic cooperation agreement with the Departments of Nephrology and Physiology at Radboudumc. This agreement further embodies the strategic cooperation between the University of Twente and Radbodomic.

exchange of teachers
As part of this agreement, starting from October 2021, Professor Demetrius Stamatialis (from BST) at Radboudumc, and Professor Johan van der Flagg (Nfruje, Radboudumc) and Professor Joost Hunderup (Physiology, Radboudumc) at BST will exchange professors for two years.

successful cooperation
Teams from the University of Twente and Radbodomic (Research Subject Kidney Disorders) have collaborated successfully in recent years on various projects (BIOkid, TURBO, NOVAMEM, NODIAL). This strategic agreement and mutual exchange of professors will facilitate further collaboration, particularly at the intersection of engineering and biomedical sciences for clinical translation and implementation. Furthermore, they should promote synergies within existing initiatives, such as the TopFit Nephrology theme, but also stimulate the creation of new initiatives at the national and international levels.

Incidental results in stages
Research into valuing new treatments, products, and aids (IP and spin-offs) is also an important part of the collaboration. Furthermore, the sharing of mutual educational activities, including facilitating internships for students, is also explored.
