Japan only after the extra half after Mexico

The softball favorite at the Olympics needed an extra round to beat Mexico. The Japanese ladies started the match strong in the second half, but Mexico fought back hard on two occasions. With a 2-2 draw, an extra round had to be taken to determine the winner. In the end, Japan took first place, leaving their home country undefeated during Tokyo 2020.

The American ladies scored a slim victory over neighboring Canada. America led 1-0 in the fifth inning, which turned out to be the only round of the match. The Canadians almost ran in the sixth inning, but the catcher narrowly prevented it.

Also exciting between Australia and Italy

In the first half, the Italians prevented the Australian ladies from scoring well by converting two games. However, in the second half, Australia struck again to lead 1-0. This turned out to be the end result, too.
