Theme park group Merlin has acquired Britain’s largest indoor water park

Well-known theme park group Merlin Entertainment will operate the largest indoor water park in Great Britain. Sandcastle Waterpark, located in Blackpool, is now part of the Merlin portfolio. The company has already operated a large number of tourist attractions in the coastal city.
Sandcastle Waterpark opened in 1986, and consists of nearly twenty different slides and water rides. The City of Blackpool has appointed Merlin as Tropical Swimming Commission operator for the next two years. The water park will remain the property of the government.

Merlin Entertainments was already in Blackpool, the company behind Madame Tussauds wax museum, Sea Life aquarium, children’s experience Peter Rabbit: Explore and Play, horror attraction The Blackpool Tower Dungeon and The Blackpool Tower, including a ballroom and theater hall The conference area.
