The world famous Noma restaurant in Copenhagen will close at the end of next year. The concept of haute cuisine with its “exhausting working hours and intense work culture” has reached a breaking point, says chef and owner René Redzepi. New York times.

The new Noma will occasionally open as a pop-up restaurant. Details about this have not yet been announced. The current restaurant has been attracting gourmets to the Danish capital for years.

Opened in 2003, the restaurant has been voted the best restaurant in the world five times, as the winner of a list of fifty restaurants. Noma topped the list in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014 and most recently in 2021.
