The latest edition of the Top 2000 officially kicked off on Sunday to Monday night. Radio DJ Bart Arens opened the setlist, just as in previous years, by combining several instrumental songs into one complete song in a “mashup”.
After the opening act, DJ Jeroen van Inkel played the first official recording of the Top 2000: New York minute Van Don Henley.
For the 25th anniversary of Top 2000, an additional five hundred songs have been added to the list this year. Figures from 2,001 to 2,500 were heard between December 11 and 15.
The countdown to No. 1 officially began Sunday night into Monday. Number 1 is traditional bohemian rhapsody By the British rock band Queen. The song will be played a few minutes before New Year's Eve and heralds the year 2024.
The top ten is exactly the same as last year. Danny Vera is in second place with his number roller coaster. Third place again for the Eagles California hotel.
What is striking this year is the large number of Dutch songs. The list contains 381 songs from our country. Stiekem van Maan and Goldband is the 180th highest charting Dutch song.
