Guus Meeuwis will perform not five, but six times at Philips Stadium next year as Groots with Soft G. The singer has announced an additional show on Thursday, June 20. This makes The Last Parties the longest running series of his career. And his biggest fan, Joyce Hammer, already has tickets for this show. “I don’t know if my husband is still happy with me,” she laughs.
Before the singer from Tilburg announced the news on Wednesday night, Joyce was already aware. “A friend of mine had already seen the bonus show on Ticketmaster. She called me right away to see if I had already seen it.”
Besides, it didn’t come as a complete surprise to her. “In a video message, Guus already told me I could hit 70 shows. With six shows I’m coming to 69. So I’m expecting even one more to come. I estimate that on a Sunday this past weekend.”
“It’s a lot of money, but I don’t want to miss a single show.”
Joyce laughs: “I also don’t know how happy my husband will be with me after that series.” Don’t you also take a deep sigh with each new offer? “It’s a lot of money, but I don’t want to miss it,” says Joyce. “I’ve always been there, so I want to tap 70 now.”
So, Joyce still has to get tickets for Saturday, June 22nd. Because she doesn’t have one yet. This offer has been sold out. “I secretly hope that Guus will give me this gift. I will really like it.”
The singer from Tilburg announced at the end of March that he would stop with Groots concerts. He started performing in 2006 and since then the singer has been at the Eindhoven stadium almost every year. Next year will be the last release. And with six shows, it’s bigger than ever. In 2010, 2015 and 2017, Guus has given five concerts in a row. In 2024 there will be six for the first time. Three of those shows are already sold out.
