KNLTB wants to make Padel more visible to a wide audience along with new major sponsor EY

EY Accountants and Consulting will be the main sponsor of KNLTB Padel for the next three years. Through joint investments and activities with EY and founding partners, the Tennis Association wants to further professionalize the sport and make the dynamic and surprising nature of the sport visible to a wide audience.

Jeroen Davidson, Chairman of EY Netherlands: “EY is proud to be the main sponsor in the Netherlands of this rapidly emerging sport in the years to come. Padel has a very positive aura and is infectious. Moreover, it is a dynamic team sport for women and men, young and old. This fits with our identity and what we want to radiate as a brand and organization.”

Albert Jan Smed, KNLTB Commercial Director: “We are proud that EY wants to commit itself to the padel game and that we are embracing this new sport together. Padel is still in its growth phase, so it is a good time to get in. This requires vision, confidence and courage to invest. Hand in hand With EY we can introduce more people to Padel and bring the sport more professionally. The activation options are great, for example during events, clinics, company and student competitions.”

Padel quickly gained popularity with the latter. Currently in the Netherlands there are more than 75,000 substitute players (of which 25,000 are in associations). The number of active players is expected to reach 140,000 by 2024. The number of padel pitches will grow from more than 850 at the moment to 1,200 jobs in 2024.
