Samsung and TetrisTM launch ‘Samsung Stackers’ – Samsung Belgium Newsroom

To combat food waste, Samsung and The Tetris Company introduce “Samsung Stackers,” a set of storage bins inspired by the world-famous puzzle game Tetris®.

The first set of unique storage boxes contains all seven of the iconic Tetrimino shapes and colors (turquoise, yellow, purple, green, blue, red and orange). This set makes storing food in the fridge or freezer easier and more fun. All proceeds go to Association of European Food Banks.

Food waste is a growing problem. it turns out1 The self-reported amount of food waste is back to the same level it was before the COVID-19 pandemic. Three out of ten people (30%) admit to wasting more food than before the pandemic (20%). This is due to lower quality “food management behaviour” such as group cooking and the use of leftovers.

With colorful and nostalgic Tetris-themed designs, people can stack Samsung Stackers in their fridge just like in the game. Whether it’s up, down, left or right, storage boxes are perfect for optimizing space.

Like the Stackers range, Samsung’s ranges of refrigerators offer endless possibilities, inside and out. Whether it’s “Adjustable Interior Space” or “Wine Rack” features that reduce wasted fridge space. Or SpaceMax™ technology to provide designs more suitable for fresh produce. These innovative features can be found in Samsung’s built to order refrigerators, a completely unique line of refrigerators and freezers renowned for their capacity, convenience and capabilities.

Maxime Parein, Head of Home Appliances Marketing at Samsung Benelux Say: “Our mission at Samsung is to develop modern products and solutions that help consumers better manage and lead their lives, including reducing food waste. That’s why we teamed up with The Tetris Company to launch Samsung Stackers, a unique storage solution that makes food preservation fun. Samsung stacks not only well and fits perfectly in our refrigerators, but also offers our customers a more efficient way to use available storage space. While at the same time supporting the European Food Bank Association’s fight against food waste.”
