Russia steals money from foreigners
The Kremlin will confiscate the funds deposited by foreigners and foreign companies in Russia. This was stated by the former Russian president and current deputy head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, according to the official Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
Russia is said to be taking this action in response to the sanctions imposed by Western countries, which makes it difficult for many Russians to access the money they have deposited in these countries. Funds deposited by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the European Union has also been frozen, among other things, due to sanctions.
According to Medvedev, Moscow does not rule out the confiscation of the assets of companies registered in the United States, the European Union and other “unfriendly jurisdictions”.
