Marco Reus has finally secured his transfer to the Los Angeles Galaxy. The midfielder was already linked with the American club at the beginning of June and the deal is now complete. The American club finally presented the Borussia Dortmund legend.
The 35-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a contract on the West Coast of America for 2.5 seasons until the end of the 2026 MLS season. General Manager LA Galaxy’s Will Kuntz is delighted with the German’s arrival.
“Marco Reus is a world-class player who has distinguished himself on the sport’s highest stage,” Kuntz said. “The fact that Marco wants to continue his career here is a testament to the program we’re building here.”
Reus announced his departure from Dortmund at the end of last season, for whom he has played since 2012 and has become an absolute club legend. Reus doesn’t want to think about the end of his career, so the question is which club he will add to his resume.
In early June Athletic To report that negotiations are ongoing between LA Galaxy and Camp Reus. At the same time, nothing is certain yet, as No. 10 has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia and Europe.
Reus eventually made 429 appearances for Dortmund, the club that took him from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012 for around seventeen million euros. In those 429 appearances, Reus scored 170 goals and 131 assists.
The signal departs from Iduna Park and has been connected to Reus several times over the years. However, the 48-time German international chose to remain loyal to Dortmund forever, which only increased his hero status.
