Paris lifts 149 electric buses off the road after two of them caught fire | car

Footage taken by passers-by shows sparks emanating from the top of a city bus. Shortly thereafter, flames a few feet away from the car. According to an emergency services spokesperson, thirty firefighters were needed to put out the flames.
Notre Dame
The latest incident occurred just after 8 a.m. on a Paris street on Friday morning. No one was hurt, but the carrier is lifting buses off the road. “This is the second fire in less than a month on the Bolloré-branded Bluebus 5SE bus,” the statement said. “As a precaution, the RATP has decided not to operate 149 of these buses for the time being.”

The date of the first fire dates back to the 4th of April. Then a bus near Notre Dame was completely burnt. Plumes of smoke can be seen from afar. The DOT describes the RATP’s selection as reasonable until the cause of the fire is clear. “We will closely follow the results of the investigation into the buses,” the ministry said. A French travel organization described the fires as “alarming” this morning. “We expect a solution from the manufacturer soon.”
Action Plan
RATP would like to stress that electric buses have been in use since 2016 and that there have been no serious accidents. The company expects manufacturer Bolloré to conduct an investigation into the cause of the fires and a plan of action after which the buses can return to the road.
