OnePlus has discontinued support for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. The latest official phone update rolled out to users in December. The OnePlus 6 was released in May 2018 and the 6T appeared six months later.
OnePlus announces the end of official support for the two devices Recently in a forum post. “After three major upgrades and more than three years of updates, now is the time to close a chapter and announce the end of official software support for OnePlus 6 and 6T,” the manufacturer wrote.
In early December, the company released OxygenOS 11.1.2.2 for the two phones and OnePlus now confirms that it was the latest update. This update included the November 2021 Android Security Patch. The phone will not receive any new security updates from the manufacturer in the future, nor will it update to new Android versions.
The OnePlus 6T has been updated by OnePlus for over three years and OnePlus 6 has received updates for over 3.5 years. The former came with Android 9.0, while the OnePlus 6 came with Android 8.1 at launch. Both devices are now running Android 11.
