Odette Lunettes, an eyewear brand founded by Eline De Munck, won the leading prize: ‘Curiosity from America Now’

According to reports from HLN, Odette Lunettes, the Flemish eyewear brand founded seven years ago by actress, singer and presenter Eline De Munck, has won the ‘Silmo D’Or’ award at the Silmo exhibition in Paris. Odette Lunettes won the award in the ‘Children’ category. “To win such an important prize as a small, independent brand is truly unique,” de Munk told HLN.

The Silmo exhibition is the largest glass exhibition in the world, according to de Mung, he explains to HLN. “Thousands of distributors and opticians flock here looking for the best products. This is where you need to differentiate yourself as a brand. Winning the ‘Cilmo d’Or’ certainly helps. Meanwhile, even distributors from the US have shown interest.”

Odette Lunettes recently launched a line for children. The ‘Cadet’ line is aimed at children aged eight to sixteen and will go on sale this fall, HLN reports. The exhibition’s jury was particularly impressed by the production process using a 3D printer. “This makes the frames stronger, which is beneficial for durability,” says de Munk.

In Belgium, Odette Lunettes has stores in Antwerp, Ghent and Nakke. There is a pop-up in Maasmechelen Village and the brand has sales points in sixteen countries.
