For the second time in six years, quarterback Tom Brady will not appear in the Super Bowl. The American has already won the most important championship in American football seven times, but it is doubtful whether there will be an eighth cup.
Brady is taking some time to reflect on his future after eliminating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL Playoffs. The 44-year-old quarterback, a seven-time Super Bowl winner, has a one-year contract with the Buccaneers. “I haven’t thought much about it yet,” said the American football legend, who was asked a lot of questions about his future after the loss to the Los Angeles Rams (27-30). “I watch it day in and day out.”
According to some American media, Brady is thinking of ending his long and very successful career. He is considered the best quarterback player ever in the NFL. Brady helped the New England Patriots win the Super Bowl six times and led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the championship last year.
“I would be very surprised if he doesn’t play next year,” Buccaneers coach Bruce Aryan said last week. Brady has shown this season that at the age of 44, he still belongs at the top. He has had the most touchdown passes of any quarterback, and the star also tops the passing yards standings.
“All I thought about was this match and the win,” Brady said after losing to the Rams. “This has always been my mentality. I don’t think more than 5 minutes ago right now.” The American, who is married to Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen and has two children, said earlier that he makes an assessment after each season. I can’t imagine not playing American football. But my kids aren’t getting any younger and I want to make sure they get what they need.”
There are still four teams that have a chance at Super Bowl LVI. The Asian Football Championship is the final match between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals. NFC is the final match between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers. The winners of both games will play the Super Bowl, which this year takes place on February 13 at SoFi Stadium in California. The Super Bowl is the largest singles sports game in the world and is watched by nearly a hundred million people around the world.
