Last month, 3 Covid deaths and 75 new infections in Suriname

COVID-19 test result

In June, 3 coronavirus deaths and 75 new infections were recorded in Suriname. The number of infections has increased recently.

This is evident from the recent update of the numbers on Official COVID-19 website Suriname government. The numbers also show that in June, 32 people ended up in hospital and 2 in intensive care.

Many cases of influenza occur during this period, but the distinction between influenza and Covid-19 can only be done by testing for Covid-19.

Influenza comes in different forms and since there are still many Covid-19 infections, it is highly recommended that you get swabbed if you have symptoms and/or signs of influenza. Only by testing will you know what it really is.

Symptoms and/or signs:

  • Fever (at least 37.5°C) with no markedly different focus (or feeling feverish)
  • cough
  • Loss of sense of taste or smell
  • Body aches or muscle aches without another apparent cause
  • diarrhea or vomiting
  • nausea
  • exhaustion
  • Cold shivers
  • shortness of breath
  • sore throat
  • confusion
  • Headache (often relatively orbital)
  • Runny nose
