Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd will open its doors to visitors again from today

The Oud Amelisweerd cottage has been opened again. The cottage can be visited again from Thursday and provides a stage for exhibitions in the field of art, science and history.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Stadsherstel Utrecht would be responsible for the management, maintenance and operation of the Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd for the next ten years. Stadsherstel owns, among others, Gasthuis Leeuwenbergh, Zeven Steegjes and Molenerf De Ster.

Stadsherstel Utrecht has partnered with several Utrecht institutions, such as the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (HKU) and the Centraal Museum, to implement the Landhuis. A number of exhibitions can be seen at the Landhuis in the near future.

The first exhibition in Landhuis is from HKU Fashion Design. Starting Thursday, the program’s fashion students will present their graduation work at Class 2021 Fair. The work contains “personal stories, where fashion, photography, film, and performance come together.”

Starting next spring, the Centraal Museum will organize two separate exhibitions annually on the first floor of the Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd. These exhibitions are about living Dutch artists. This fall, the names of the artists to be shown in 2022 will be announced.

In addition to the exhibitions in the Landhuis, unique Chinese and Dutch wallpaper from the 18th and 19th centuries can be seen again. There are also volunteers who give guided tours and can tell you more about the wallpaper and the history of the Landhuis.

Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd is open Thursday through Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
