Kim Jong-un gives the famous news anchor a luxury apartment as a gift: ‘It’s the treasure of the country’

Kim Jong-un himself toured the world-famous Ri Chun-hee. Hand in hand, they walked into her new home. “It looks like a hotel,” she stammered when she saw her new home overlooking a river in the upscale neighborhood where North Korea’s elite live.

The woman has been retired since 2012, but has reappeared on screen during major events. With the luxury apartment, Kim wants to thank her for her services. “It is the treasure of the earth,” he said flatly.

Ri Chun Hee, 79, is North Korea’s most famous news anchor, and for good reason. She is known for her extravagant way of presenting “the news”, which sometimes caused quite a stir. He is the founder of the communist state and the grandfather of the current leader Kim Jong Un. Kim Il-sung died in 1994 and now holds the title of Eternal President of the Republic.

Kim Jong-un wants to present all the apartments in the complex as a gift to the people who “contributed” to building the country.
