The developer announced that It Takes Two, the co-op game released last month, has sold 1 million times. The game is not playable without a cooperative partner and there is no emulation.
According to Joseph Fares, Head of development studio Hazelight, explains that there are “competent players who only want to play cooperative games” and that he “hopes that there will be more games like this.” It Takes Two can be played locally and online. The second player does not have to pay for the game and can join online via the Internet Friend’s permitBut local cooperation is also an option.
Hazelight previously created A Way Out, which is a game that can only be played in co-op and has no matchmaking. At Starbreeze Studios, Faris also made Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons, but despite the cooperative elements, this game is for the player.
It Takes Two is a platform game where players control two handcrafted dolls through life. The two must make their way through the game world that features a variety of gameplay mechanics from different types of games. The game is available for Windows, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S systems.
