The US House of Representatives has voted unanimously to issue a subpoena against former President Donald Trump to investigate the January 6 attack on the Capitol. The commission wants to question him about his role in the events that led to the violent attack on the Congress.
The seven Democratic and two Republican members of the House Select Committee voted 9-0 for Trump to provide documents and testimony under oath regarding the January 6 attack. The storm killed five people, including 138 police officers, and injured hundreds.

He is the only central figure in the story of what happened on January 6. So we want to hear from him,” said Democratic Committee Chairman Penny Thompson. “He must be held accountable for his actions and the police officers who risk their lives and bodies to protect our democracy.”

The commission, which spent more than a year investigating the attack on the capitol that injured more than 140 police officers and killed several, interviewed more than 1,000 witnesses.
