A short-term calendar is also published by the ISU. Canada, China, South Korea, Germany and Poland have hosted one or more World Cups. In addition to the World Cup, the European Short Track Championships (12-14 January) and the World Junior Championships (22-25 February) will be held in Gdansk, Poland. Dutch short track fans will already have red circled in their agenda from March 15 to 17, as the best international short track speed skaters will come to Ahoy for a shot at world titles. Can Xandra Velzeboer, Suzanne Schulting, women’s relay and medley relay extend their titles? Which Dutch men can we expect to see on display?

The ISU has announced where international competitions may be held, including for the 2026/2027 season. The Netherlands organizes the following competitions for long track speed skating: European Championships and World Cup (2024/2025), World Cup and World Cup All-around and Sprint (2025/2026), World Cup and European Championships (2026/2027). The World Cup in Short Track is held every year in the Netherlands. There will also be a European Championship in the 2025/2026 season.
