Hans Stegmann appointed Chief Economist at Triodos Bank

Triodos Bank has appointed Hans Stegemann as Chief Economist effective 1 December 2022. In this role, he will focus on providing insight into and analysis of economic and social developments. Hans will also be responsible for influence strategy at Triodos Bank.

As Triodos Bank pursues its mission of making money work for positive social, environmental and cultural change, there is a need for a good understanding of the social and economic context in which the Bank operates.

Hans Stegeman and his team focus on economic research, analysis, and thought leadership about how our economy and society work and how they interact with each other. For both the banking activities of Triodos in the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Spain and Germany and for the investment branch located in the Netherlands and which is active all over the world. Hans will lead Triodos Bank’s impact strategy and contribute to Triodos Bank’s vision of necessary societal transformations and long-term goals.

Prior to his appointment as Chief Economist, Hans Stegmann worked as Chief Investment Officer at Triodos Investment Management. He has a proven track record in research and in the financial sector. Prior to joining Triodos Investment Management in 2017, he held various positions at Rabobank, including Chief Economist for the Netherlands. Hans started his career at the Central Planning Office (CPB).
