The opposition is considering a vote of no confidence

Parliament can only block legislation by overthrowing the government with a vote of no confidence. French politicians have until Friday 3:20 p.m. to do so.

An absolute majority in parliament is required for such a proposal. It doesn’t seem to exist at the moment. It is assumed that several opposition parties will present their own proposal. It is unclear who will support which movement.

Part of retirement plans is to increase the retirement age. It extends from 62 to 64 years. According to the government of President Emmanuel Macron, this is necessary, otherwise a significant personnel shortage may arise in the coming years.
