‘Football vs Soccer’ battle ends in bloodless draw: US wins clash with Iran

At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, England did well in Group B, holding the USA to a draw. In Algor, both teams had more energy in the game, but no goals were scored: 0-0.

At the Al Bad Stadium, England striker Harry Kane got the crowd fired up from the bench in the first leg, but his ‘chance’ turned out to be a really big one and all but missed. For the USA, Haji Wright turned dangerous on Weston McKenney’s pass, but that effort also failed to score.

Pulisic Dries Pickford: Late!
After McKennie got himself close once, Christian Pulisic stopped after a quick move. His effort landed above Jordan Pickford on the crossbar. Mason Mount had a chance on behalf of coach Gareth Southgate in extra time in the 1st, but Arsenal keeper Matt Turner got in the way of the Chelsea playmaker.

After the break, both nations tried to force something with creative substitutions. For England, Jordan Henderson and Jack Grealish came before Jude Bellingham and Raheem Sterling, and then Marcus Rashford before the Bukayo saga. Man United striker Rashford hoped to beat Turner but his shot lacked power.
