First Giant Bulb for America: ‘Symbol of Connection Between America and Bulb Region’

It is a fact that Lisse – the first giant sphere in America; Bulb Company Leo Berbee Bulb Co. To celebrate their 50th anniversary and to mark the connection between America and the bulb region, they purchased a giant bulb.

In 1974, Leo Berbee Bulb Co. Lisse established a facility in Marysville (Ohio) in the United States with the aim of supplying and storing bulbs for growers receiving planting orders late in the season. Commissioned by the company, a giant globe is painted with typical Dutch materials, like Delft blue clocks and of course tulips in all colors.

Henk Berbee (Board Member): “Several tour buses visit our company every week via the local Chamber of Commerce. This winter, under the theme ‘From Bud to Flower’, we would like to display this giant lamp as an attraction in our company, with a photo opportunity. 2023 This summer, our company will celebrate its 50th anniversary and will have a permanent place for the Giant Bulb Company as a symbol of the connection between Marysville and Polanstreak.
