Nigel Farage, the politician who led the campaign to force the UK out of the European Union, now admits that Brexit failed. The British are on many levels, especially from an economic point of view, much worse than the member states of the European Union. In an interview with BBC Newsnight, Farage, now a well-rounded presenter on a very conservative TV channel, has to admit that his country is in bad shape. “Brexit Failed”. He tries to hide his failure by claiming that Brexit proves to him that British politicians are “as useless as the commissioners in Brussels”. He refuses to acknowledge that the British would now be better off if they had stayed in the Union.

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development predicts that the growth of the British economy will be the second worst compared to other countries. Only Russia is worse off. The British Court of Audit notes that Brexit has led to a sharp decline in international trade. Brexiteers told voters the opposite in the referendum. They promised, despite the opinion of experts, that trade and the economy would actually flourish. Due to the loss of workers from the European Union, the British are also facing a huge staff shortage, which means foreign workers are being rehired. At the same time, the country is grappling with a growing influx of migrants arriving by boat.
