Elton John has postponed part of his farewell European tour that was to take place this year until 2023. The singer recently fell and injured his thigh. He said in a statement that he must submit to this purpose.
John will visit Sportpaleis in Antwerp in October this year with Farewell tour of the yellow brick road. These shows have now been moved to May 27 and 28, 2023.
“At the end of my summer vacation, I had a hard fall and since then I’ve had a lot of pain in my hip,” says the 74-year-old singer. “Despite extensive physiotherapy and specialist treatment, the pain continued to worsen and became increasingly difficult to move. She was advised to undergo surgery as soon as possible in order to make a full recovery and avoid long-term complications.”
The dates for John’s remaining 2021 tour, in which he will also visit other parts of Europe and the UK as well as Antwerp, have been moved to 2023. The singer will perform again in the US starting in 2022. As of May 2022, he will be doing another part of His European tour that was not postponed. On June 9, 2022, he will be at the GelreDome in Arnhem.
