Disney Plus will be cheaper next year, but there’s a problem

Disney has a new and cheaper subscription announce† This subscription will be available in the US later this year and will reach other countries starting in 2023. The new plan does not come with ads.

Disney Plus just got cheaper

Disney Plus is available in the Netherlands for 8.99 € Per month. If you take an annual subscription, it will be cheaper. Then you pay it €89.90 every year. From next year, there will be another option, a cheaper subscription with ads. This subscription will first be available in the US and other countries in 2023. It is likely that the Netherlands and Belgium will also be.

The popular streaming service hopes to attract more subscribers in this way. This is not a redundant luxury, as growth has stabilized somewhat in recent months. In addition to this, of course ads are also an interesting source of income for the streaming service. According to Disney, advertisers have been keen to advertise their merchandise since the launch of Disney Plus.

It is not known how much cheaper a new subscription with ads will be. More details, including launch date and pricing, will be announced at a later date. US streaming service Hulu, which is part of Disney, offers a subscription with ads. Americans pay $6.99 a month for this. The ad-free version with additional features costs $12.99 per month.
