Brunswick Javanese: “SondroUnity wo Misi a boto”
Vice President and ABOP leader Ronnie Brunswick once again appealed to Javanese in Suriname to form close unity during the Javanese New Year celebration at Independence Square on Monday evening.
“The yampaneisi brada nanga sa na Srananman October. But without unity you can’t decide how to deal with it. The second man of the country said: “Sondro’s unity has lost a boat.”
According to Brunsvik, the Maroons and Javanese are the two most deprived population groups in Suriname. It is time for these two groups to take their place in the country. But the ABOP leader stressed that this unity should not mean that other population groups should be ignored.
“This is my home. Unity extends to all levels of society. I am happy to live in Suriname where there is a mosque next to the synagogue. All these beliefs together have no problems. Sranan na wan unicum. The United Nations is one United Nations,” said Brunswick, who reminded the audience to think about the future and make good choices.
The Vice President pointed out that thanks to the Santokhi-Brunswick government, the Javanese New Year has finally been elevated to a national holiday. PL leader Pol Sumohardjo made an important contribution to this through President Chan Santokhi.
“Sranan na wan bromki dyari and Javanese society make an important contribution to the development of the country,” says Brunswick.
