British Grand Prix in 2022 earlier on the MotoGP calendar

The tentative date for the 2022 edition of the British Grand Prix has been announced. Unlike previous years, the event will not take place at Silverstone at the end of August but at the beginning of August, on the weekend of August 5-7.

After announcing the date of the first weekend of the Grand Prix earlier this weekend, Dorna has now also announced the provisional date for the 2022 British Grand Prix. The event will take place at Silverstone next season a few weeks earlier than in previous years. In recent years, the event has always been on the calendar the last weekend of August, but next season will take place on the weekend of August 05-07, and it was announced on Saturday during Qualifier Day.

We want everyone to enjoy motor racing at the highest level in the UK and are investing a tremendous amount of time, money and resources to make Silverstone as good and attractive as possible for motorcycles and our fans. We also want it to come back. We are all visiting Silverstone this year and we are fully focused on attracting a new group of fans who can enjoy an unforgettable weekend of racing and entertainment.”

We are excited to be back on site early in the summer of 2022 so we have the best chance of enjoying our incredible planning and speed in the best weather possible.
