AX started slightly higher, led by ABN Amro and Besi


(ABM FN-Dow Jones) The AEX index rose 0.2 percent to 769.20 on Monday, while the Midcap gained 0.2 percent.

Late last week, the United States agreed to raise the debt ceiling. That deal still needs to be ratified by Congress, which promises to be no easy feat.

Among major stocks, APN Amro led the way with a 1.3 percent gain, followed by Semiconductor Besi with 1.1 percent. Aegon was 1.8 percent lower. However, the stock is mentioned as ex-dividend. If this is fixed, the insured will go up.

In AMX, AMG won by 1.3 percent. Van Lanschot cited the ex-dividend as a five percent drop.

On AScX, Azerion won 8 percent.
