I have a 4090FE myself, but it’s really not a silent card imho. Above average sound at 1100rpm, due to excessive turbulence from the rear fan (it gives the typical propulsive noise) and at full load it blows like any other video card (then the fans go around 1500-2000rpm).
It shows again how subjective sound experience/evaluation can be.
So-called “extremely low noise production” With the Asus 4080 Noctua, I would probably classify it as “Normal Quiet”.
This is also because I have a full custom loop, where the system barely rises above the background noise of the room at rest and can only be heard slightly under load (6 Noctua NF-A12x25 fans @ 400-1000rpm). Moreover in a quiet room. This is my definition of cool .
What I’m just wondering about with the Asus 4080 Noctua version is what the situation is with the amount of coil sound/noise, since there are many complaints about this with the Strix versions (this would also be in part because the cooling is above average ‘quieter’ and therefore more noticeable).
I find this to be much more important than a meaningless dB(A) measurement.
