According to an ABC News poll, three-quarters of Americans are very concerned about President Joe Biden’s health. Biden’s ‘approval rating’ has increased to 56 percent. American reporter David Hummelburg sums it up: ‘He sounds and has a scratchy, mumbling voice like a tired old man. You think: He will collapse in no time.
According to Hummelberg, Democrats are very concerned that Biden will no longer focus on his own story. “It’s not about slips of the tongue, because as a stutterer he always suffers.” Hummelburg points to Biden’s appearance as an old, frail man who is “staring through the eyes” at any given moment. And he sees things getting worse.

This is absolutely bad news for Democrats considering the presidential election is approaching. Two weeks ago, Franklin Foer’s ‘The Last Politician’ about the last two years of Joe Biden, who is now almost 81, was released, and that didn’t bode well for the polls either.

Biden shifts to the left
According to Hummelburg, the book describes how Biden moved to the left under pressure from various movements of Democratic caucuses in the House and Senate. “Republicans point to that as the main danger against Biden.”
Hummelberg calls a left-wing strategy in America ‘consolidation’, especially when it’s delivered as ‘soullessly’ as Biden does. ‘That’s wrong, you can see that. If he delivers that confidence with the bravado of someone like Trump or Chris Christie, it will work well.
Biden has no alternative
However, Hummelburg sees no alternative to Biden, as Democrats have always assumed that Trump will win the Republican nomination and that only Biden can defeat him. “But that strategy will fall apart if Biden doesn’t get support from his own supporters.” Not to mention the almost obvious Vice President Kamala Harris, who, according to Hummelburg, has no support. “I don’t see any real plan B.”
Donald Trump has a huge lead
Meanwhile, Donald Trump continues to rise in the polls as he faces more impeachment charges. “He polls 40 percent more than his Republican rivals, so statistically DeSantis and Nikki Haley and Mike Pence and others are not in the story.”
An important side note: These are polls of primary Republicans. “In the end, that doesn’t say much about the period when the battle between the nominees begins after the conventions.” But Hummelburg doesn’t see Trump losing within his own party unless he ‘goes to jail’.
